Delightfully tacky, yet unrefined

Over the weekend I had the wonderful opportunity to reunite with college friends at this annual charity basketball tournament, which serves as a yearly reminder for all of us how OLD we're getting.

How does this relate to decorating, you ask? Well in several ways:
1- Since we are all adults now, the answer to the question, "What are you up to these days?" can most likely be answered by any of the following: Relationship Status (I'm engaged/newly married/still searching for The One), Location Status (I just moved), Career Status (I can't wait for grad school to be over, I got a new job, I'm looking for a job), or Baby Status (self explanatory-- you either have one or you don't, unless you're in between with something baking in the oven). Since nobody really wants to hear the true answer behind, "How's married life?" I like to say that I fall into the Location category.
2- People told me that they read my blog. (w00t!)
3- We didn't know where to go afterwards, and while I normally wouldn't mind throwing an impromptu get-together, the place isn't ready for visitors yet! So we settled on the traditional venue, Hooters.

This was our waitress:

OK not really, but I love Butters and just wanted to throw him in here.

And THIS is the lovely drinkware that came with our pina coladas. I think it's the perfect accessory that just ties our kitchen together.

So 3 of these classy glasses (say that 4x fast) belong to my friends who will pick them up when we finally have our housewarming. Let the good times spill! ;) Until then, maybe Mike and I will add a few more wine bottles to the RACK behind them. Just trying to get the full effect, you know?
